Think about it: there is someone out there right now who passed away, lost their home, lost a friend, lost a family member that they were very close to, lost someone they truly love and care about, got shot, was diagnosed with cancer, went bankrupt, has no family, is alone, doesn’t have enough money to purchase food, has no friends, has nobody to speak to, wants to or have committed suicide, cut themselves, got into a life threatening car accident, is trying to fight a terminal disease, got divorced, got raped, was murdered, had a miscarriage, is worrying about their child being kidnapped from that, has a broken heart that still hasn’t mended after years, lost their job, broke up with the one person they loved, had a heart attack, had their house catch on fire, got hit by a car, is begging for money because they don’t have it and most of you are sitting here on the computer wondering why the guy or girl you like won’t like you back or how your parents won’t buy you an expensive camera, how you can’t get the clothes you want, how your parents won’t give you money to go out with your friends or even how you think your life is so bad. There are so much worse more things out in the world happening right now. People don’t get to have what you have. A warm house, decent clothes, electronics, a family, food… and I think people need to start being appreciative more because everything you have could be taken away in a second. Others don’t ever get to receive what you have, so be grateful.
The song talks about all the bullshit in the music scene today. This song exposes all the bands that say something they are not. Just because your band plays breakdowns, does not make you a hardcore band! At the end of the song their is a clip of Austin Carlile saying his band is hardcore because they play crazy breakdowns and have bright purple letters in their name. THIS DOES NOT MAKE YOU HARDCORE!!! Rise Records has all these bands that say they are something that they are not.
